Privacy notice
Short version: the contact form collects what you type into it, I use it to reply to you, and nothing else happens to it.

Who is responsible for your data
Active Choice, run by Lindsay Pickton in Kingston upon Thames, is the data controller for anything collected through this website. You can reach me at lindsay@activechoice.co.uk about anything on this page.
What is collected
Only what you type into the contact form: your name, your email address, your telephone number if you choose to give one, and your message. Nothing is collected from you anywhere else on the site.
The form also records the internet address your submission came from, for a short period, purely to stop the form being used to send bulk rubbish. It is not linked to you and it is not used for anything else.
Why it is collected
To reply to you, and to have the conversation you asked for. That is the only purpose. The lawful basis is legitimate interest: you have contacted a business expecting a reply, and a reply requires an address to send it to.
Where it goes
Your message is sent to my own email inbox through Cloudflare Email Routing, which passes it on and does not store it. It is not added to a mailing list. It is not sent to any advertising or analytics service. It is not sold, shared or passed to anyone else.
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not lead anywhere are deleted from my inbox within twelve months. If we go on to work together, I keep our correspondence for as long as you are a client and for six years afterwards, which is the period tax and insurance records have to be kept for.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies at all, and there is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Visitor numbers are counted using Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless. It records that a page was viewed, roughly where in the world from and on what sort of device. It does not build a profile of you, does not follow you to other websites and does not identify you. There is no Google Analytics on this site, no advertising pixel from Meta or anyone else, and no third party tag of any kind.
If a video is ever added to the site, it will not load anything from YouTube or Vimeo until you press play, so no third party sees you until you have asked for it.
Your rights
You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email lindsay@activechoice.co.uk and I will do it, and confirm when it is done, within a month. There is no charge and you do not have to give a reason.
If you think I have handled your data badly, tell me first and I will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, which is the UK regulator.
Changes to this notice
If the site changes in a way that affects any of the above, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it.
